A few terms, translated

In Human Design, each term describes a way of working. See what resonates.

Generator
Steady energy that renews when you spend it on what you enjoy.
Sacral authority
Your gut yes or no, often a sound before a thought.
5/1 profile
Line 5: people look to you for practical answers. Line 1: you like solid ground before you act.
Open Head
You take in other people's questions and ideas, and not every one is yours to answer.
Strategy
The way of starting things that tends to go smoothly for your type.
Definition
How the coloured parts of your chart connect to each other.

Key to the plate

Every chart uses the same marks. Here's how to read them.

Defined centre
Coloured in. It works the same way every day.
Open centre
White. It takes in and amplifies what's around you.
Personality
Black lines and dots: the side of you that you know.
Design
Red lines and dots: the side that runs in the background.
Channel
A line between two centres. Coloured end to end, it's a steady part of how you work.
Gate
One of 64 points on the chart, each with its own theme.
Dashed
May change with your exact time. Only on charts drawn for noon.

The nine centres

  • Head, inspiration and questions
  • Ajna, thinking and certainty
  • Throat, speaking and doing
  • G centre, identity and direction
  • Heart, willpower and promises
  • Solar plexus, emotions and moods
  • Spleen, instinct and timing
  • Sacral, life force and gut response
  • Root, pressure and drive

Questions

Is this advice, or a prediction?

Neither. Human Design is a framework for reflection. It describes ways of working that you can try on, keep if they fit and drop if they don't. Nothing here says what will happen to you, and nothing here is health, money or relationship advice.

How is my chart calculated?

From your birth date, time and place, we work out where the Sun, Moon and planets were at the moment you were born, and at a second moment about three months earlier, when the Sun stood 88 degrees behind its birth position. Each position lands on one of 64 gates and one of 6 lines. The astronomy comes from Astronomy Engine, an open-source library, and your local birth time is converted with your birthplace's historical time-zone rules, daylight saving included.

Will my chart match other calculators?

We use the standard Human Design method: your birth moment, plus the moment about three months earlier when the Sun stood 88 degrees behind its birth position. If another calculator shows something different, first check that both used the same birth date, time and place. A few minutes can change a line.

What if I don't know my birth time?

Tick I don't know my birth time. We'll draw your chart for 12:00 noon and mark every detail that could change with your exact time, so you can see what's certain.

What does one chart a day mean?

Each visitor can draw one free chart a day. If you spot a typo, you can fix it within 30 minutes and it won't count as a second chart.

Why do you ask for my email?

Your bodygraph, your type and the first part of your explanation are free, with no email. Your full profile, every centre, channel and gate, opens when you enter your email. We send one email: a private link back to your profile, so you can read it again. There's no password.

Who writes the explanations?

Teaselhollow wrote them with the help of AI, working from the standard Human Design definitions, and every one follows the same rules: plain English, no predictions, no advice. They're fixed texts, not written on the spot. Your chart decides which ones you see.

What is Ask Your Chart?

A planned tool that will answer everyday questions through your design, always as reflection and never as advice. It isn't open yet.

Do you sell my birth details?

No. We never sell your birth details. Privacy explains what we keep, why and for how long.

The explanation you'd usually pay a reader for, written plainly
